Douglas Franklin FreemanTEXARKANA FUNERAL HOME of TEXARKANA, TXPublished Wednesday, May 16, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune Douglas Franklin Freeman, 57, of Texarkana, Ark., died Thursday, May 10, 2001 in a VA medical center in Shreveport, La. Mr. Freeman was born June 24, 1943, in San Pedro, Calif. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Texarkana. Survivors include his wife, Judy Freeman of Texarkana; two sons, Douglas F. Freeman Jr. and Scott Freeman of Little Rock; three step-sons, Scott Carmony of Kansas City, Mo., and Dr. Neil Carmony and Dr. Brent Carmony of Texarkana, Texas; two step-daughters, Denise Rowe of Texarkana, Texas, and Melinda Brooks of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, James Freeman of Texarkana; one grandchild; and 11 step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, May 14, at First Lutheran Church in Texarkana, Texas, with Rev. Richard Cody officiating. Graveside services were to be held Tuesday, May 15, at 11:00 a.m. in the National Cemetery in Little Rock under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home of Texarkana, Texas.
