YOUNG FUNERAL HOME of EL DORADA

Reece Lynton Pledger, 91, of Little Rock died Friday, May 4, 2001.

He was born in Holly Springs, the youngest of six children born to Mae and Oscar Pledger. He played on the undefeated state championship Fordyce Redbugs football team along with such teammates as Paul Bear' Bryant and Ike' Murray. He graduated from Henderson College in Arkadelphia, where he wrote for the college newspaper. He worked for Commercial Credit Corp. his entire business career, where he retired in 1974 as vice president. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Wilda Reasons Pledger of El Dorado. Their retirement years were spent in Little Rock. They were members of Pulaski Heights Methodist Church in Little Rock.

Survivors include his only daughter, Lynn Cortney Pledger-Wilson and her husband Stuart and their three children, Miranda, India and Liam Reece Wilson, all of London, England; one sister, Ethel Pledger of Prescott; a nephew, Thomas Goodgame of Little Rock; a niece, Shirley Rowley of Dallas, Texas; and a number of cousins and devoted friends, especially Linda Patterson and James and Lewis May, all of Little Rock. All will remember him fondly as a great father, a good friend and an honest man.

Graveside services were held in El Dorado Tuesday, May 8, in Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Rainwater officiating under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of El Dorado.
