Artesian Arts LeaguePublished Wednesday, May 16, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe second annual poetry reading, hosted by the Artesian Arts League, was held April 28. It was enjoyed by a good number of participants and guests. The event was held at the Whistlin Gopher and the owners, Heidi and Brett Richards, served delicious refreshments to the group. In connection with the Chicken and Egg Festival the Artesian Arts League will host a visual arts show Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2, in the Broadway Hotel Lobby. This will include photography as well as paintings. Every participant is asked to provide an easel or table to display the art work. There will be a limit of two entries for each artist. In order to allow time to set up the displays the league is asking each artist to bring the art to the Broadway Hotel Thursday, May 31. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
