Golden OldiesDORIS VANCEPublished Wednesday, May 16, 2001 in the Gurdon Times I have lost out on a lot of activities, because I have been in the hospital with pneumonia. Last week we held our monthly council meeting and the Musicmakers sang at Twin Rivers Health and Rehab. Wednesday Lloyd Baumgardner sang for us. We celebrated Mother's Day Friday. A group from the center went to the Spring Fling at the fairgrounds in Hot Springs. Next week we will play bingo, have a necklace and neck-tie day, and the square dancers will dance. Bud Gulledge will play the piano next week. We have a contest going on to try to increase the attendance at the center. Where else could an individual get a good hot meal for a donation of $1. Won't you come and join us? Some of our members are not feeling well, and some are going to have surgery. We wish them a speedy recovery. I have really been enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having. I want to wish every Mother a Happy Mother's Day.
