Classy Moments from Cabe Middle SchoolPublished Wednesday, May 16, 2001 in the Gurdon TimesEach school year students have a fun day.' this is a day of various games and competition. This took place Tuesday on the football field. Flag football, 400-meter dash, 100-meter dash, volleyball and various other games were available for the students. Students are suddenly becoming concerned about their grades. It is as though a light came on. Hopefully, they will remain on task and get all their assignments completed. The eighth graders are getting anxious about graduation. Several, however, have made statements that they do not want to go to high school. They will adjust just fine after a few days. The seventh graders said their goodbyes to Morgan McClure, as she transferred to another school district. However, they welcomed Eric Wells back (he transferred from another district). We always enjoy welcoming new students, but do not enjoy seeing one of our own leave us. The yearbooks are being enjoyed. Extra copies are available if you would like to purchase one. Just send $18 to Mrs. Clingan and she will have one sent to you, or come by the school and pick one up. Students work hard on this and it is one to be proud of. The awards assembly has been scheduled for June 1. The time will be given later. Just keep your calendar clear the last week in May, as we have various activities on the way. Mr. Alexander, Mrs. Smithey and Mrs. Clingan attended a Smart Step workshop Thursday. The afternoon section was enjoyed when Gov. Mike Huckabee spoke to the group and expressed how pleased he is about the Smart Step program and the progress that has been made. So many things to do, time is running out, but Classy Moments will continue at CMS. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
