Graduation Ceremonies Set At Emmet

Katie Davidson has been named valedictorian at Emmet High School.

She is the daughter of Karen Morrow and John Davidson.

Katie has been the Emmet Eagles mascot for the past two years. She is president of the Library Club and member for seven years, member of Beta Club for four years, president of Student Council and member for four years, member of the softball team and selected for Who's Who Among American High School Students for four years.

Rose Martin has been named salutatorian.

She is the daughter of Rosemary Harris and Michael Martin.

Rose has been a member of the basketball team for four years and served as co-captain, member of the softball team and was selected for Who's Who Among American High School Students for four years. She is president of the senior class.

Rose plans to attend UALR to become a psychologist.

Commencement will be Friday evening, May 18, at 8:00 in the Ross Gymnasium. Mrs. Diane Davis, Kindergarten teacher at Emmet Elementary School, will be the speaker. She is the former Diane Impson of Hope.

Mrs. Davis is a 1977 graduate of Hope High School and a 1988 graduate of Henderson State University. She has spent her entire teaching career in the Emmet School District, where she has taught kindergarten for 13 years.

In 1993 she was selected Teacher of the Year for the Emmet School District. The 2001 graduating class was her first kindergarten class.

Mrs. Davis is married to Roger Davis and she has two boys, Chris, 20, and Phillip, 16.

Mrs. Davis attends Northside Assembly of God in Texarkana, Texas.
