NCSO Busts Magnolia Man For MethamphetamineBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, May 9, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune A traffic stop Sunday evening resulted in the arrest of a Magnolia man on drug charges. According to reports from the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, deputy Danny Martin was on patrol in the Willisville area when he saw a vehicle speeding. The vehicle was clocked at 71 in a 55 mile per hour zone. Martin initiated the stop. He asked the driver, Gerald "Scott" Wyrick, 28, for his driver's license. A check showed it to be suspended. Martin then asked for permission to search the vehicle, with Wyrick granting it. The officer found traces of marijuana in the vehicle, and some methamphetamine on the driver's side. Wyrick was placed under arrest, and charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, speeding, driving on a suspended license and driving while under the influence of intoxicants, either alcohol or drugs.
