Gordon, Anderson Wed At CentralPublished Wednesday, May 9, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneCentral Baptist Church in Prescott was the setting for the wedding of Katie Lynn Gordon and Richard Cleveland Anderson IV. The candlelight ceremony took place on Saturday, April 28, at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Chad Brandon, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. The alter of the church was flanked by two large fluted urn arrangements on pedestals. Roses, stargazer lilies, glads, snapdragons, iris, calla lilies, lisianthus, stock, springeri and plumes of pink astilbe made up the arrangements. Six graduated columns with hurricanes globes, springeri and white tulle led the eye to the center of the church, where a large arrangement consisting of Vogue, Anna and Eskimo roses, stargazer lilies, glads, snapdragons, calla lilies, stock, larkspur, iris and freesia, with springeri cascading to the floor. Two nine light candelabras also provided for the beautiful setting. The church aisles were lined with candlelight hurricane globes anchored with a tulle bow and cascades of springeri. The family members were greeted with bouquets of roses, larkspur, iris, stargazer lilies, Asiatic lilies, freesia, stock and snapdragons. Organ music for the wedding ceremony was provided by Mrs. Labe Haynie. Vocal selections were provided by special friends of the bride, Mrs. Tim Loe and Mrs. Jim McKenzie. Mrs. Loe sang In This Very Room and This Day. Mrs. McKenzie sang The Lord's Prayer. The bride entered the sanctuary with her father, wearing a formal gown in white Italian satin. The off-the-shoulder corset style bodice was embellished in florets adorned in crystals, seed pearls, rocals, and jewels. Tiny satin-covered buttons extended from the rounded back that was enhanced with beadwork. The princess line skirt was edged in embroidered beaded lace, featuring vertical bands of re-embroidered beaded lace that continued onto the long chapel length train. A small halo of crystal beads and pearls held a two-tiered white tulle veil scattered with crystals. The bride wore a pair of pearl earrings, which was a gift from her parents. The bride carried a bouquet of Vogue, Anna and Eskimo roses, mixed with Stephanotis and freesia and cascades of dendrobium orchids and needlepoint English ivy. Attached to the bouquet was an heirloom handkerchief that belonged to the bride's great grandmother, Mrs. Laura Francis Grayson. Honor attendant for the bride was Miss Ashley Katherine DeWoody from Little Rock. Mr. Ricky Nations of Ruston, La., served as best man for the groom. Bridesmaids included Miss Megan Anderson and Mrs. Mandy Anderson Cantwell, sisters of the groom, from Ruston, La., Mrs. Jennifer Purifoy Gordon, sister-in-law of the bride, from Prescott; Miss Kimmy Griep and Mrs. Wendy Smelser from Magnolia; and Miss Stephanie Freeman from El Dorado. The bridesmaids wore long crepe off-the-shoulder gowns of paradise pink, designed with boned bodice, dropped waists and accented by low scooped necklines and delicate chiffon skirts. Each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of hand-tied bouquets of Vogue roses, calla lilies, rice flower and springeri, all tied with a tulle bow. The groomsmen for the wedding included Tate Gordon, brother of the bride, from Prescott; Robbie Temple, Zach Yates, David Smith, Brandon Cochran and Jason Roberts, all from Ruston, La. The groom and groomsmen wore black tuxedos with gray patterned vests and the ushers and fathers wore traditional black vested tuxedos. Kynnedi Lynn Gordon, niece of the bride and daughter of Tate and Jennifer Gordon, served as flower girl. She wore a long white Dulciana and Italian satin dress that was adorned with beaded lace. Grant Anderson, nephew of the groom and son of Mandy Cantwell, served as ring bearer. Ushers were Mr. Ryan Harvey, cousin of the bride, from Maumelle; Mr. Kiley Stephenson, Mr. G.G. Grant, Mr. Jamie Tucker, Mr. Adam Bamburg and Mrs. Drew Paul Nolen, all of Ruston, La. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Alexander Gordon Jr. of Prescott. Parents of the groom are Mrs. Diane Anderson of Ruston, La., and Mr. Richard Cleveland Anderson III of Bastrop, La.The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Loyce Hildebrand of Prescott and the late Mr. Loyce Hildebrand and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph A. Gordon. The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Joe Davidson Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cleveland Anderson Jr., all of Bastrop, La., and the late Mr. Joe Davidson Jr. The bride's mother chose a formal two-piece crepe dress and evening jacket in periwinkle, featuring a jeweled neckline. The long-sleeved jacket was accented with miniature beading along the lapel. The mother of the groom chose a two-piece orchid crepe dress. The jacket was adorned in small orchid pearls. The bride's grandmother chose a fushia silk suit for the occasion. The groom's maternal grandmother chose a pink brocaded suit and his paternal grandmother wore a light blue crepe suit. The bride's mother was escorted by Mr. Ryan Harvey, cousin of the bride. The groom's mother was escorted by Jamie Tucker. A garden reception was held at the home of the bride's parents immediately following the ceremony. The focal point of the garden reception was the bridal tent, where the wedding cake was placed. The five-layer cake was adorned in roses, lilies, dendrobium orchids, cymbidium orchids, stock, freesia, iris and springeri. The groom's cake was placed in a Greek colonnade. The garden was graced in miniature white lights, candlelight and pink and white spring flowers. The guest tables were adorned with arrangements of white glads and rose bowls filled with white floating candles. Servers for the reception included Mrs. Kristi Ammons Robbins from Hope, Mrs. Melanie Jones Glass from Prescott, Mrs. Bron Vandiver Koger from Prescott and Miss Vanna Gordon, cousin of the bride, from Maumelle. Children assisting at the reception were Kaylee Fincher, friend of the bride, from Prescott; Ashley Ingram, special friend, from Little Rock; Bailey Ryder, cousin of the groom, from Bastrop, La., Lauren Wood, cousin of the groom, from Bastrop, La., and Garrett Tate Gordon, nephew of the bride, from Prescott. Reception entertainment was provided by Mr. Johnny O'Neal from Ruston, La. The wedding rehearsal, ceremony and reception activities were directed by a very special friend, Ms. Jayne Randolph, from Prescott. Following the wedding, the couple left for a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico. After the wedding trip the couple will reside in Monroe, La., where the bride is the controller/vice-president of Horizons Bank in Monroe. The groom is employed by American Income Life Insurance Company. Social Events Honoring the Bridal Couple The Randolph Farm was the beautiful setting of a luncheon given in honor of the bride on February 25. The hostess for this lovely occasion was Ms. Jayne Randolph. A miscellaneous shower was held on March 2 in Prescott at the Prescott Elementary School activity center. Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. Herbert Adams, Mrs. Dusty Cobb, Mrs. Toby Cottingham, Mrs. Pat Ward, Mrs. Scott Marbury, Mrs. Dale Almand, Mrs. Bill Oliver, Mrs. Glen Whitmarsh, Mrs. Jimmy Graham and Mrs. Gary Golden. A coffee and add-a-touch shower was given March 3 in Prescott at the beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs Jim McKenzie. Mrs. McKenzie was the hostess of this lovely party. Central Baptist Church was the setting for a drop-in shower, honoring the bride and groom March 31 in the church fellowship hall. Hostesses for the shower were Mrs. Carl Dalrymple Jr., Mrs. Billy House, Mrs. Tim Plunkett, Mrs. Jon Cobb, Mrs. Donnie Barton, Mrs. Danny Beavert, Mrs. Johnny Wake, Mrs. Joe McDonald and Mrs. Bobby McGough. A dinner party and miscellaneous shower was given in Monroe, La., on April 5 at the beautiful home of Tracy Norman. Other hostesses for the occasion were Kimmy Griep, Ashley DeWoody and Wendy Smelser. The couple was treated to a buffet dinner and Honey Do shower in Ruston, La., on April 21 at the home of Connie Smith. Others hosting the event were Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Cochran, Dr. George Smith, David Smith and Brandon Cochran. The groom's mother and father hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Prescott Country Club on April 27. Guests included the wedding party, out of town guests and family members. A delightful video, featuring childhood pictures, provided entertainment for the dinner guests. A bridal luncheon was held at the lovely home of Mrs. Jim Pounds on April 28. Special guests included the bridal party, out of town guests and family members. Hostesses for the luncheon were Mrs. Pounds, Mrs. Jim Mark Ingram, Mrs. Terry Lasiter and Mrs. Jana Johnson. On the afternoon of the wedding a picnic was given to honor the groom at the beautiful country home of Mr. and Mrs. Pete DeWoody. Guests included the groom's wedding party, family and out-of-town guests.
