Rosston NewsMARGUERITE WILLIAMSPublished Wednesday, May 9, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune This has been a long tiring week at our house. Roscoe had tests on Monday and learned on Wednesday that he has a polyp on his stomach with a tiny bleeding ulcer on top of it. This is why he has been so pale and weak lately. Thanks to lots of iron and drugs for the ucler, and to answered prayers, he is much better. Thanks to Bob Gresham, my brother and his wife of Hope for sitting with me until I got a report on the test. The polyp will be removed when the ulcer heals. The youth of our church sponsored a fish fry Saturday night and proceeds were over $600. Thanks to Bob Gresham and his son Jacob for donating the catfish and to everyone who donated food and all the hard work. After a business meeting on Sunday night a reception was given by the youth for our two seniors, Timmy Potts and Jenifer Eller. Saturday Timmy Potts and parents, Lewis and Cindy Jackson, traveled to Little Rock and attended a reception honoring the high point seniors. Timmy and Stacy Bingham of Nevada School were among them. Our guests on Saturday night were Max and Ruth Hill of Dallas and their grandson, Christopher, of Maine. They have been here all week at their vacation home, getting the final clean-up of their yard. We treated them to fish plates from our church. Sunday granddaughter, Ginger, and her son, Tyler, and grandson, Marty's wife, Raegan, and her son, Wren, of Texarkana were our guests. Tyler had spent the weekend with grandparents, Ralph and Belinda McKinnon, of Prescott. Van O'Keefe of Longview, Texas, was a guest of his mother, Valeria, this weekend. Valeria O'Keefe is beginning to improve this week after cracking a rib last week. Jim Dixon remains in St. Michael in Texarkana and still needs our prayers. I believe this is his third week there. Please remember his wife, Mona. This has been hard on her, too. Jerry Sue Dixon and family still need our prayers. Roscoe and I went to Baptist Medical Center Monday, where Roscoe will have a sleep apnea test. I will spend the night with our cousins, Bob and Drucilla Fairchild. Remember us in your prayers. Ellen Kennedy Marsh of Little Rock will be at Mt. Moriah Saturday night with The Apostles.' She plays the piano for them. The Talleys will also be there. The time is 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited. Ellen, formerly of Rosston, is a great piano player. Horace Kennedy was her father and very well known around here. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
