William N. Holmes, 94, of Okolona died Sunday, April 29, 2002 in Twin Rivers Healthcare in Arkadelphia.

Mr. Holmes was born January 19, 1907, in Olympia, Wash., the son of the late Isaac and Lula Edith Drury Holmes. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran serving for thirty years. He was a member of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Arkansas Fleet Reserve Association, a Master Mason with the Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, a member of the V.F.W. and a retired jockey agent.

Survivors include one son, Donald Holmes of Oak Park, Mich.; one daughter, Janice Holmes LeJeune of Okolona; nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Friday, May 4, at National Cemetery in Little Rock with full military honors provided by the honor guard of V.F.W. Post 2278 of Hot Springs. Arrangements were by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
