Jimmy Earl Pogue, 76, of Royal, formerly of Prescott, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center in Hot Springs.

Mr. Pogue was born April 7, 1925, in Poyen. He was a barber, a Baptist, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Thaddeus H. Carawy Post 2278 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude McRae Pogue of Royal; two sons, Donnie Pogue of Mt. Ida and Thomas Sallee of Mt. Holly, N.J.; three daughters, Cathy Pogue of Las Vegas, Nev., Miriam Fitch of Hindsville and Amy Goff of Springdale; one sister, Alene Abbott of Hot Springs; one brother, Roy Pogue of Mentone, Calif.; a nephew, Jimmy Howard Pogue of Hot Springs; 12 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Friday, April 27, at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott with Chaplain Matthew Goff officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
