Howard Lavon AllenBRAZZEL / CORNISH FUNERAL HOME of PRESCOTTPublished Wednesday, May 2, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune Howard Lavon Allen, 80, of Benton, formerly of Prescott, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Mr. Allen was born April 6, 1921, in Hempstead County to Monroe William and Doris Jean Owens Allen. He was a retired painter and he was employed in maintenance with the state of Arkansas for 22 years. Mr. Allen was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by one brother, Willard Allen, and one sister, Allene Allen. Survivors include his wife, Maxine K. Allen of Benton; two sons, Harlis Allen of Porterville, Calif., and Ross Allen of Traskwood; three brothers, Burlen Allen, Harlan Allen and Rayborn Allen all of Oklahoma; two sisters, Kathleen Allen of Monticello and Dolores Morton of Henrietta, Okla., five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Friday, April 27, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Edward Kitchens officiating.
