Maxine Story McGarrPublished Wednesday, May 2, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneMaxine Story McGarr, 79, of McNeil died Monday, April 23, 2001, at her home. Mrs. McGarr was born March 25, 1922, to the late Parson Charles and Ruby Lillian (Bass) Story. She was a dietician at Magnolia City Hospital, a member of the First United Methodist Church of McNeil and a member of the Eastern Star for 49 years. Mrs. McGarr is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, H.E. Mac' McGarr, and a grandson, Max Chad McGarr. Survivors include a son, Eddie McGarr of Bismarck; two daughters, Shirley Hobbie of Palestine, Texas, and Linda Vansickle of Prescott; two brothers, Lawrence Story and Monroe Story both of Magnolia; two sisters, Louise McWilliams of Magnolia and Marie Pharr of Waldo; four grandchildren, John Miles Hobbie of Dallas, Texas, Seth Hobbie of Mesa, Ariz., Ruby Vansickle of Dallas, Texas, and Joe Vansickle of Prescott; and three great grandchildren, Taylor and Shane Vansickle of Prescott and Miles Caleb Hobbie of Mesa, Ariz. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 25, at First United Methodist Church in McNeil with Rev. Robert Wilson officiating. Burial was in Philadelphia Methodist Church Cemetery.
