Get the Gurdon junior cheerleaders to wait on you  and get your car washed, too  at the Sonic Saturday, May 5, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Help them go to cheerleading camp.

Friends and neighbors will host a house-warming party for Stereen, Holly and Kyle Orsburn at their new home on Highway 51 near Okolona Sunday afternoon, May 6, from 2:00 to 4:00.

Everyone is invited to attend.

Revival will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Whelen Springs Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5, at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. with evangelist Bro. Doug White.

All former students who attended Okolona High School are invited to attend the biannual reunion Saturday, May 5, at the Okolona High School beginning at 9:00 a.m. Take your own sandwich in a paper sack or molasses bucket or wrapped in newspaper. Drinks will be provided.

Learn how to improve meal planning for diabetics at the monthly diabetics education meeting Thursday, May 10, at 2:00 p.m. at the Clark County Fairgrounds EHC Kitchen in Arkadelphia.

Guest speaker will be Jackie Hurt, registered dietician with the Baptist Health System.

The Gurdon High School class of 1971 is planning its 30-year reunion. If you have addresses for graduates of 1971 call Dinah Buck at 353-4641 or Kathy Anderson at 353-3853.

The Southwest Arkansas Development Council Learning Center will sponsor a free Laubach Tutor Training Workshop Friday, May 4, at 304 E. Vine Street, Prescott. The workshop will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend.

The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
