We Get LettersPublished Wednesday, April 25, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayunePrescott Court Is A Circus This is about the municipal court judge. If you get in trouble and have to pay restitution, don't worry, Gene Hale will see that you don't have to pay it. It is not right, but that is the sort of court system we have. My daughters tore my truck up. I took them to court and they were ordered to pay $425 restitution a piece plus court costs. The oldest daughter was hounded until she paid. When she did not pay like she should they would arrest her for failure to comply. It has been nearly two years and the courts will not make the youngest one pay her share. We had to get the FBI involved before they would even take it to court. The Prescott court system is nothing but a circus and a joke. If you get arrested all you have to do to get released is tell them you have head lice or a STD. They said it was cheaper to let them go than to get them help. The youngest daughter said she could not be made to pay and apparently she was right. Both girls have been in jail on cash bonds and were released without having to pay it. The police will tell you that they send warrants when they don't. It is time Prescott realizes just what kind of law enforcement they have. The kind that is not worth anything. Tommy J. Wells Gurdon Class Wants State History My fifth grade class is studying the United States of America. To help me with my part of the project, I am requesting picture postcards from your state. I especially need to know your state's history, culture, climate, and any unique features you think interesting. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you in advance. K.C.I.
