Seale Construction of Sparkman has been awarded the contract for renovations to Gurdon's City Hall.

At a bid opening, held Tuesday, April 17, Seale was the low bidder of the three turned in. Seale's bid was $198,600.

The other bidders were higher. Hargett Construction of El Dorado turned in a bid of $241,500, while Re-Store Inc. of Hot Springs bid $237,371 for the job.

The renovation project is actually three in one. One part is to widen the street in front of City Hall and install a drive through window for the Gurdon Water and Sewer Department.

Another part is to pave the parking lot across from City Hall, while the third portion is the addition of two fire bays for the Gurdon Fire Department.

This renovation work is being paid for through grants from the Cabe Foundation, and not tax monies.
