Word was received here that Roland Brown of Camden passed away. He was known by many here. His funeral was Tuesday with burial at Bluff City Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Moore of Oklahoma City and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Henson were visiting the McBrides last weekend. The Hensons plan to return to their missionary work in Africa in May.

Since the annual Bluff City school reunion is coming up May 5 in Prescott, I dug out my copy of an old Bluff City High School yearbook for the year 1947-48. Seems like they had a few extra that year and gave me one. I was just starting the first grade, so I don't remember it very well. Somehow, the book managed to survive all these years. I thought I would use this column this week to jog your memory a little bit.

The superintendent at that time was Mr. H. H. May, who also taught history and science. Mrs. McBride taught English and math, Mrs. Maude Loe taught grades 4, 5, and 6 and Mrs. Thera Greer taught grades 1, 2, and 3.

The senior class members were Joyce Benson, Myrtie McBride, Sam Sarrett, Nell Wanda Walker, William Loe, Cloys McAteer, Glenn Morrow and John Walter Alford.

The junior class members were Bernell Kirk, Denver Ann White, Bobby Loe, Thomas Starnes, Nelson Otwell and Billy Harvey.

The sophomore class members were Bob Walker, Bill Walker, Leon Neal, Jimmy Tunnell, Bennie Hildebrand and Gloria Ernestine Tunnell.

The freshman class members were Millard McBride, May Anderson, Donald Walthall, Donald Barlow, Mary Ann DeWoody, Daniel McMurry, Betty Hildebrand, James Lee Henry, Corrine Morrow and Imon Lee Green.

Those in the eighth grade were Bobby Norman, Collier Alford, James

Cottingham, Billy Meador, Alice Starnes, Jenell McBride, Bonnie Pratt, Betty Green and Betty Kirk.

Those in the seventh grade were Erless Tunnell, James Thomas, Curtis Anderson, Jesse Bustin, Wayne Kirk, Roger Wingfield, Joan Norman and James Wheat.

Those were the only students pictured in the yearbook. Some of the

local stores that advertised in the yearbook were H. W. Knight Gro., Jones' Gro. and Station, and R. N. Knight's Grocery and Station along with other stores in Prescott, Camden and Chidester.

This was back when stores in Prescott and Chidester had two-digit phone numbers and when Prescott Hardware had an undertaking department and advertised ambulance service.

Four of the above listed people still live in Bluff City. Several have

passed on and the rest are scattered about over the country.

With all that to think about now, you might as well make plans to attend the Bluff City school reunion at noon on May 5 at the Hale Community Center in Prescott.
