Shootout Set At Prescott Raceway

Sunday, April 29, will be a big day at the Prescott Raceway, with the Third Annual Mid-America Street Car Shootout.

The cars in this series of races are all street legal, but will be showing what they can do in the quarter-mile at the track. For more information about this, contact Nathan Mann at 501-821-2106.

There will also be regular drag racing Saturday, April 28.

Turning to the races Saturday, April 21, J.O. Murray of Benton captured the Super Pro division. Murray had a dial in time of 5.63, hitting it exactly during his run, as he topped out at 121 miles per hour. His reaction time was 0.504 seconds.

Jeff Brotherton of Mena was the runner up at 135 mph. His dial in was 4.94., while the ET was also 4.94. His reaction time was 0.527 seconds.

Prescott's Greg Dougan was a semifinalist in the race. He made the run in 106 mph. Dougan's dial in was 6.40, while his ET was 6.43. His reaction time was 0.528.

Kenny Tankersley of Malvern was the other semifinalist. He made the run at 123 mph. His dial in was 5.68, with the ET at 5.71. Tankersley's reaction time was 0.481.

The no-electronics class was won by Greenbrier's Allan Holloway. His top speed was117 mph. Holloway's dial in was 5.95, while the ET was 5.96. His reaction time was 0.553.

Adam Reiter of Hot Springs was the runner up as he reached 79 mph. His dial in was 8.93, with an ET of 8.91. His reaction time was 0.496.

Zach Reynolds of Sheridan was the semifinalist. His top end was 83 mph, while his dial in was 8.11. His ET was 8.12, with a reaction time of 0.614.

In the street division, James Camp of Magnolia captured first place. Camp's top speed was 76 mph, after a dial in of 13.37. His ET was 13.39, with a reaction time of 0.692.

Kelly Mayo of Royal was the runner up. Mayo's dial in was 11.94, while the ET was 11.88 and top speed reached 86 mph. His reaction time was 0.744.

Sheridan's David Reynolds was the semifinalist. His top end was 74 mph, while his dial in was 13.75 and ET was 13.73. His reaction time was 0.578.
