Dearward 'Gene' Autrey

Dearward Gene' Autrey, 82, of Benton died Tuesday, April 17, 2001.

Mr. Autrey was born January 28, 1919, in Morrilton to the late Charley and Belle Brock Autrey. He was a factory worker and had also worked in construction. He was a member of Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of WWII serving in North Africa, Sicily and France.

His parents, his wife, Pearl Gray Autrey, and granddaughter, Lisa Ann Wright, preceded him in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Laura Ann Stuckey of Little Rock, Ruth Amy James of Benton and Virginia Tedder of Hot Springs; three sons, Robert Gray of Pensacola, Fla., Joe Gray of Reedsport, Ore., and Adrian Gray of Las Vegas, Nev.; 8 granddaughters, Robin West, Regina Westbrook, Reagan Stiles, Tena Innman, Nicole Gray, Karen Book, Pamela Ruth Wolk and Rhonda Duncan; six grandsons, Benny Joe Gray, Duff Gray, Curtis Gray, Johnny Wright, Ronnie Wallace and Bobby Gray; one sister, Laura Bell Tucker of Prattsville; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 19, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers were Ricky West, Bryson West, Danny Westbrook, Ellis M. James, Norman Rogers and Mike Tucker. Burial followed at Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon.
