All former students who attended Okolona High School are invited to attend the biannual reunion Saturday, May 5, at the Okolona High School beginning at 9:00 a.m. Take your own sandwich in a paper sack or molasses bucket or wrapped in newspaper. Drinks will be provided.

The annual Dobyville Cemetery Association will meet Sunday, April 29, at 2:00 p.m. Those going need to take a donation and a lawn chair with you. For information call Sue Kelly at 246-6966.

South Arkansas Community Development will hold a home-buyers' workshop Saturday, April 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 406 Clay Street, Arkadelphia. It is open to the public. For more information call the office at 230-1717.

Beech Street Baptist Church will hold a men and boys' prayer breakfast Sunday, April 29, at 7:30 a.m. For more information call 870-353-4971.

Learn how to improve meal planning for diabetics at the monthly diabetics education meeting Thursday, May 10, at 2:00 p.m. at the Clark County Fairgrounds EHC Kitchen in Arkadelphia.

Guest speaker will be Jackie Hurt, registered dietician with the Baptist Health System.

Cabe Middle School's Junior Beta Club will be holding a carwash Saturday, April 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thomason's Big Star's parking lot.

Donations accepted.

Learn creative ways to decorate with and use clay flower pots. A craft class will be sponsored by the Clark County Extension Homemakers. The class will be taught by Linda Hood Wednesday (today), April 25, at 9:30 a.m. at the EHC kitchen in Arkadelphia at the Clark County Fairgrounds on Highway 67 South. This meeting is free and open to the public.

Those attending should take their own seven-inch pots with saucers. Call the Extension office at 870-246-2281 to sign up for the class.

Leandra and Micheal Dillard of Gurdon are proud to announce the birth of their son, Jaxson Ross, born Wednesday, April 4, 2001, and eighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces. Jaxson measured 20= inches in length.

Grandparents are Sherell and Carla Jester and James and Dianne Dillard of Gurdon. Great grandparent is Patsy Whiteshankles of Gurdon and Amy Jester of Dallas, Texas.

The Gurdon High School class of 1971 is planning its 30-year reunion. If you have addresses for graduates of 1971 call Dinah Buck at 353-4641 or Kathy Anderson at 353-3853.

The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend.

The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
