Rabies Clinics Are Saturday

Published Wednesday, April 18, 2001 in the Gurdon Times

The Clark County Extension Service, the Clark County Health Unit and local veterinarians will be sponsoring the annual rabies vaccination clinic Monday, April 23, through Saturday, April 28.

Persons may contact the Clark County Health Unit or Clark County Extension Service at 246-2281 for additional information. Fees will be $6 per animal.

Pets must be three months old to receive the rabies vaccination.

Rabies can occur at any time of the year and is not more common during any particular time of year.

Dogs and cats in rural areas are more likely to have contact with rabies-carrying animals, such as skunks, so it is especially important to keep their shots current.

Arkansas law requires all dogs and cats to be vaccinated each year against rabies. By having this done you help protect your family, neighbors, livestock, and your pets.
