Rosston NewsMARGUERITE WILLIAMSPublished Wednesday, April 18, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune I hope everyone had a nice Easter. There are a lot of sick people in Rosston and that affected our 7 a.m. services. There was a fair crowd and the report is that they had a good breakfast after the services. Among the visitors were Stacy Faulkner's brother, Chris Chancy, his wife and two children from Hot Springs and some of the Jackson children. Jim Dixon was taken to St. Michael Hospital last Sunday morning and had open heart surgery on Tuesday. He had four bypasses and a day or two later he had to have more surgery due to hemorrhaging. He is still in ICU, but is improving. Paul Broussard was taken to the Hope hospital Friday with a breathing problem. He has been in ICU and a heart doctor from Little Rock was there Monday to see him. Roscoe and I spent the week on Lake Ouachita with Doug and Rhonda Morgan of Camden. We caught quiet a few crappie. The limit on two days, but when the Easter snap hit they didn't bite as well. We had two big fish suppers and several visitors. Rhonda, her daughter Lindsey and I shopped in Hot Springs on Friday. Sunday we went to Lufkin, Texas, and spent the day with Carl and Brenda Vandever. Great grandson Tyler came home with us as he had Friday and Monday out of school for Easter. He and Roscoe went to White Oak Lake Monday to fish. Jerry Don Oswalt and son Chad and J.D. Luck worked at the Hurrah Patch Saturday with A.B. Luck. They had lunch with A.B. and Maxine. Paul and Marlyn Crider of Magnolia were guests of Dail and Marjorie Evans Sunday night. Jerry Sue Gibson remains in the hospital in Houston. Her family was called down there this week as she has not had a very good week. If everything went well Monday she may get to go home. Please remember all these people in your prayers. Alan Russo went to a doctor in Hope Monday as he is having trouble with one of his legs. Their new baby had to be taken to a Texarkana hospital several days last week with jaundice, but he is doing fine now. Jeff Taylor left yesterday to go to Oklahoma with the construction crew that he worked here with to clean up the debris from the ice storm. Lyn Dean Morman had her family for lunch yesterday and opened their Christmas gifts. They had just buried Max at Christmas so they postponed opening their gifts. I know it was a sad time for them. We attended John Warren Green's church in Lufkin for the Easter service yesterday. It was so good to hear him preach again. This is his first and only church. 26 years he has been there. This is a commendable service to God. He and wife Kathryn are such sweet people. He was raised in Rosston and is the same age as our boys.
