Boughton NewsMRS. WILLIE HOOKSPublished Wednesday, April 18, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune We are having plenty of rain. The rain messed up the cemetery working Saturday, but several had come and worked before Saturday so it was finished Saturday and looks pretty. Thanks to all the workers. We had some visitors at the cemetery Saturday. Dr. and Mrs. James Stevenson (Corrine Cox) of Jonesboro, her daughters, Dr. and Mrs. William Sullivan (Mary Kay Stevenson) of Knoxville, Tenn., Judge and Mrs. Dan Felton III (Sara Ann Stevenson) of Marianna, and grandson Jim Felton of Little Rock. We appreciated them coming by. They all attended Easter services at Boughton Church Sunday. Joel and Juanita Ridgell of Cumby, Texas, also came to the cemetery working. Joel and Juanita, Elsie Elmore, Herbie Ridgell and Kay Wren had dinner with Willie and me. Paul and Robbin Ridgell came Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed being together. Joel and Juanita also visited her brother, Charlie, and Francis Mann. Everett and Mary Orren spent a couple of days with Kirby Orren in Napoleonville, La. Kirby was feeling better, but his wife Rita remains very ill. Robert Orren visited his great grandmother, Chloe Orren, Saturday with Everett and Mary Orren. Phylis Brown and Elsie Elmore went riding Friday. They drove to Hope and enjoyed a hamburger at the Sonic. Congratulations to Stephanie and Mike Johnson of Fort Worth. They are the proud parents of a baby boy born March 23, weighing nine pounds and two ounces. He has been named Trevor Michael. Roxie and Sam Reel are the maternal grandparents. Samantha and Lauren are the proud sisters and Justin is a proud brother. Willie Mae Wood is the great grandmother. Maudine White spent a few days with her son Dennis and his wife Vicki of Little Rock. They accompanied her home and spent Saturday night with her. Willie and I visited Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas Wed. afternoon. Everett Orren also visited them one day last week. Jim, Judy Jester, Bob and Lori Cummings, Amanda and Chance, Lance and Lisa Beavers, Adam and Blake had dinner Easter Sunday with Kay Pruitt and family. Paul Morrison attended the funeral of his brother, Walter Morrison, in Dallas, Texas, Friday. Denise and Ricky Stubbs, Theresa and Courtney and two sons of Nashville spent Saturday night with Cathryn Jester. Sunday Joe Mae, Darlena Young and Bobby of Hope, Elsie Elmore, Winderleen Jester and the Stubbs all had dinner with Cathryn. Pete Jester, Jimmy Joe and several men went camping over the weekend. There will be an old time gospel singing at Boughton Church Saturday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited.
