A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse Thursday, April 26, May 24 and June 28.

Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213.

To any woman who would like to get together with another woman to pray may get in touch with the local area contact person of Moms in Touch, Beth Ward, at 870-887-6376.

For the past three years the local schools have been covered in prayer by a group of moms who meet on Tuesdays at 1:45 at First Baptist Church to pray for one hour.

Registration for kindergarten will be held at Emmet Elementary School April 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information call 887-2319.

The Southwest Arkansas Workforce Investment board will meet Friday, April 20, at 10 a.m. at UACCH in Hope.

Annual homecoming day at Pleasant Ridge Church will be Sunday, April 22. Cemetery business meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. with worship service following at 11:00 a.m. Potluck lunch will be at 12:00 noon. Singing and visitation will be in the afternoon. All singers are welcome.

The Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission will be conducting a class to certify individuals to check Coggins papers at equestrian events. The class is scheduled for Thursday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the UACCH library auditorium in Hope. The cost is $5 per person. The certification is good for three years. Call 887-2818 for additional information.

Pleasant Hill Cemetery's annual clean-up will be Saturday, April 28, at 9:00 a.m. Those working need to take mowers, Weed-eaters, tools, and elbow grease. There will be visiting with old friends as well.

In lieu of working you may send a donation to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association, Rt. 5 Box 89A, Prescott, AR 71857.

The annual Ebenezer Cemetery clean-up day will be held April 28.

The annual Ebenezer Cemetery meeting will be held May 6 at 2 p.m. at Bluff City Baptist Church.

Visiting Rockford, Ill., for the fourth annual descendants of Virgil Box family reunion held April 13 and 14 were Les and Benora Box of Rosston, Randolph and Ollie Jackson of Prescott and Charles and Vera Marks and children of Chidester. A good time was had by all.

Nevada School District will have its regular board meeting in the school library Thursday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m.

A gospel singing will be held Saturday, April 21, at Boughton Baptist Church at 7:00 p.m.

Boughton Baptist Church is located off Highway 67 North toward Gurdon.

Morris Baptist Church will be sponsoring a Serepta Springs Shed Revival April 23-27 at 7:00 each night.

The speakers will include Monday  Bro. Tal Webb of Morris Missionary Baptist Church; Tuesday  Bro. Junior Loe of Morris MBC; Wednesday  Bro. J.C. Bryant of Corinth MBC in Stephens; Thursday  Bro. Alan Willis of Beech Creek MBC in Waldo; and Friday  Bro. Ronald Gilbert, Mt. Zion MBC in Cale.

There will be a singing and special music provided each night. If you would like to sing contact Bro. Jerry Don Wicker or Sis. Lucy Glass.

Prescott FFA Alumni workshop is scheduled for Sunday, April 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Nevada County Fairgrounds rodeo arena.

You need to take your chainsaws, mowers and rakes if you have any available.
