Sunday, April 22, will be athlete Sunday at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church of Gurdon during the 11:00 a.m. worship services. Special guests will be Joe Johnson of the Arkansas Razorbacks and other athletes from across the state. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Johnny C. Harris is pastor.

April 27 through 29 Section I meeting and fifth Sunday singing will convene at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church in Gurdon. Rev. C.W. Harris is Section I president and Sis. Ethel Harris is president of Section One W.M.U. Bro. Lawrence Guinn is president of A division. Bro. Herman Thomas is director. Sis. Delores Hodge is president of Southwest District W.M.U. Dr. C.K. Yarber is serving as moderator.

Installation services for Rev. and Mrs. Danny Thompson, new pastor of St. Clair Baptist Church in Burtsell, will convene May 6 at 3:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Special guest will be Lonoke Baptist Church of Hope with Rev. Alvin Hunter, pastor and speaker.

Spring revival will begin at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Gurdon May 7, 8 and 9 at 7:00 nightly. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Evangelist for three days will be Bishop Steve M. Arnoed, pastor of St. Mark Church in Little Rock. Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor.

There will be a musical program Saturday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Okolona. Everyone is welcome. Sis. Brenda Piggee is the sponsor. Rev. Eddie Brown, pastor.

New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon will be the special guest Sunday, May 6, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Okolona. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Radford will be the speaker. Rev. Eddie Brown, pastor.

Annual mission day program will be Sunday, May 20, at 2:30 p.m. at New Mt. Zion Baptist church in Gurdon. Everyone is welcome. Sis. Vernessia Russy is president and Rev. Radford is pastor.

The Martin Gospel Singers will be among the special guest Sunday, April 22, at 6:00 p.m. at Davis Chapel Baptist Church in Prattsville. Everyone is welcome. Other guests will include Angelic Voices of Memphis, Tenn., and Dr. Fred Harris of Chicago, Ill., speaker. Rev. C. Jackson, pastor.

Joshua Thomas of Denver, Colo., visited his mother, Annie M. Thomas, and his sisters, Tabitha Thomas and her family and Vanita Thomas, grandfather Sam Bell, Aunts Shirley Louings, Barbara A. Smith, Joyce Brown, Bessie L. Rogers and Ruby Gatlin, and other relatives and friends in Gurdon over the Easter holidays.

Shelia Buford of Marshall, Texas, visited her mother, Erma Buford, and other relatives of Gurdon, Burtsell and surrounding areas over the Easter holiday.
