Letter To The Editor - Column Appreciated

As a seventh generation resident of Hempstead/Nevada County I want to thank you for the continuing and vital service to our area through the Picayune. My great grandfather, James M. Bub' Bennett, wrote the Sutton news for the Picayune for many years. I have read the paper for over sixty years.

I want to thank you especially for carrying the column by John Miller. He continues a noble tradition of standing up for those of us who are not a part of the aristocracy now ruling the country.

By allowing this minority perspective to be expressed you continue a long and honorable tradition. Your fairness is deeply appreciated.

Since I am related to a large minority of county residents I look forward each week to receiving your paper. It makes me very proud to read of the accomplishments of people whose parents and grandparents I remember with great affection and respect.
