Artesian Arts League Holds WorkshopPublished Wednesday, April 11, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Artesian Arts League Poetry workshop was a success with a success with ten participants attending. Various forms and patterns of poetry were taught. Several Choral Readings were read and enjoyed by the entire group. The Couplet, one of the forms of poetry, was taught and ten people become poets by the end of the workshop. Some of the examples are as follows: My Dog - I have a twisted phone, And a dog with a bone, My dog plays with me, As you can see. Shelby Vandeveer Run Away Home - There was once a dog, Who chased a frog. He lost his way, But found a place to stay. Kelsey Hopkins St. Patrick's Day - I really like St. Patrick's Day, You get pinched, but that's okay. You had better wear green, or be pinched to smithereens. Brittany Cason Run Away Home - My dog ran away from home. And left me all alone. I went outside to play, But it was a rainy day. Morgan Daniel My First Poetry - As I sit here quietly, I am writing my first poetry. We learned how to write couplets, It is more fun than puppets. Chelsie Ward Twisted Phone - Once an elephant found a phone, But he thought it was a bone! He also thought it was peanuts, My! Didn't he have guts! Haley Daniel Pay Day - I have so much money with me, I can't even find my house key. Everyday I get more money, On Pay Day it gets sunny. So if I get broke, on Pay Day I won't have a stoke. London Cole Twisted Phone - Have you ever talked on a twisted phone? It will not take you very long. Kids love to talk on the phone, Like a dog loves to chew on a bone. Darby Daniel. Twisted Phone - Twisted Phones do not ring, they me want to sing. I sing a tune, to the moon. Caitlin Stockton Workshop - This has been a fun experience. It was at no expense. I learned to write couplets galore. I hope we can learn some more. Brittany Cason Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
