Rosston NewsMARGUERITE WILLIAMSPublished Wednesday, April 11, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune News from Rosston is never too pleasant as it seems that we always have sickness and death to report. We were saddened by the death this week of Felts Hart of Baytown, Texas, formerly of Rosston. Funeral services were in Baytown on Friday and his body was brought to Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope on Saturday with visitation that night. Burial was a graveside service at Rosston Cemetery Sunday afternoon. The daughters and other members of the family gave wonderful eulogies in memory of their loved one. Our pastor, Bro. Mark Faulkner, had the dismissal prayer. Rosston community fixed lunch on Sunday at the church for the Hart family. There were about 50 in attendance. Those visiting the funeral home on Saturday night in Hope from Rosston were Lee Jarvis, Elsie Williams, Daisy Methvin, B.C. and Louise Dillard, Claudie and La Vergne White and Roscoe and me, and probably others I didn't see. Jim Dixon was taken to the Hope hospital in the early hours this morning (Sunday) with a heart attack and was then transported to St. Michael in Texarkana. The latest report is that he is stable, but still in critical care unit. Please remember him and Mona in your prayers. Dail and Marjorie Evans of Willisville had as guest one day this past week, their niece, Shirley Deer, of Atlanta, Ga. Marjorie called in all the relatives round there and they had a good time visiting. She served refreshments to them. Alana dn Kerri Russo are the proud parents of a new baby boy born on April 4. They came home on Saturday, but had to go back to St. Michael today due to a jaundice problem. Dail and Marjorie Evans are the great grandparents and also Keith and Betty Gibson. Grandparents are Wayne and Jana Gibson and Lawrence and Chris Russo. Misty Gibson is an aunt, and what an excited one. Way to go, Misty. You will survive. The baby got to come back home. Some good friends of ours in Hope, Clifford and Jayne Cox, lost his sister Wanda last week. Funeral was Monday afternoon. Sympathy to this family. It's been a long battle. Our pastor went to White Oak Lake Saturday to a John Deere Tournament. We haven't seen any fish, but he got a red face and arms. Bob Gresham has caught lots of big catfish in Columbia Lake, 25- to 30-pound ones, enough for the youth department to have a fish fry in the near future.
