HAZEL MEEKS
Published Wednesday, April 11, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune

It seems that summer might be here, but I'm not taking any chances by taking my electric blanket off.

Megan Vandiver attended the prom on Friday night at Prescott High School and spent the night with Katie McCauley.

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Maurice McLelland. He was the son of the late Willis and Lecti McLelland, who spent a big part of their life in this community. I think it's so remarkable that seven sisters and one brother are still around.

Terri Vandiver visited Neil and me on Saturday.

My news seems to be mostly sad news. Our sympathy to the family of Bobby Whitmarsh. His wife, Pal Cox Whitmarsh, is seriously ill at Hillcrest Care and Rehab.

Neil and I had visiting us on Sunday, his sister and her husband, Don and Amanda Gray from Bryant, Gary and Alice Meeks from North Little Rock, Wanda and Gene Steed from Camden, Betty Meeks Wilson from Hot Springs Village, and Randy, Charity and Caleb Lowdermilk.

Betty and Roy Cagle and Grandma and Grandpa Don and Libby Crane visited their daughter, Staci, David and new grandbaby, Samuel David Bui, in Old Washington on Sunday.

Joe and Mandy Harris honored their little son with a huge birthday party at their home on Saturday.

Darren and Kristi Neal attended the George Strait music festival in Little Rock over the weekend.

Emilee Neal spent the weekend with her grandparents, Jerry and Rhonda Hillery.
