Harvey and Faye Taylor recently took a trip to Biloxi, Miss. Faye attended a hair and beauty show at the Biloxi Beach Convention Center Sunday and Monday. Caley Pennington spent two nights with her grandparents, Bill and Leola Launius, in Sparkman, then she spent two nights with her other grandparents, George and Joy Cox. Saturday several from the adult Sunday school class at Shady Grove enjoyed a hamburger cookout and much more food at the beautiful home of our teacher and his wife, Ferral Glenda Nelson. Those attending were Willie and Evelyn Hooks, Jim and Leona Ballard, Harvey and Faye Taylor, George and Joy Cox, Faye Zumwalt and Mary Lee Kisselburg. Also attending were our pastor, Bro. Mike Taylor, his wife Pam and their daughter and son, Andy and Christina,r and Lauri Pilgreen. Kyle Pennington spent Friday night with grandparents, George and Joy Cox. Shane and Amanda Meador had lunch with his parents, Sid and Sandy Meador, Sunday. Shelbi Cottingham celebrated her 9th birthday Sunday with a host of friends and family with a dinner at the home of her parents, Kim and Toby Cottingham. Approximately 40 attended. The Prescott School District recognized Terri Vandiver as the 2001 educator of the year. She was presented with the award at the Prescott Nevada County Chamber of Commerce banquet March 26. Katy Wilson spent Tuesday night with Chilista Norris and Chilista spent Wednesday night with Katy. Martha Cummings and family, Sheila Key and family and Jay Bee's parents all met at Jay and Gail's home to celebrate Jay's April fool's birthday after church Sunday. He is 39 and holding. Lisa, Kyle and Caley Pennington spent Saturday in Little Rock shopping and attending a play at the Arkansas Arts Center. Danny, Lisa, Kyle and Caley Pennington enjoyed an afternoon of picnicking and trout fishing at Narrows Dam Sunday. Those visiting George and Joy Cox Friday were Mary and Rayburn Powell from Conway, Hazel Powell from Little Rock, Charlie and Mel Cox from Ashdown, Ann Wylie from Hope, Pershing and Mary Cox and Lisa and Caley Pennington. They all enjoyed sandwiches and plenty of other good food. Mary, Rayburn, Charlie and Hazel visited their cousin, Pal Whitmarsh, who resides at Hillcrest Care and Rehab. Erica Burdue, who attends Central Baptist College in Conway, spent the weekend with her parents and brother, John, Erica and John Burdue. Rene McKelvy and her fianci, Eric Williams, were honored with an engagement party Saturday night at the home of Jim and Betty McKenzie, Rene lives in Hattiesburg, Miss., and works for Campus Crusade. Those attending were her parents, Fletcher and Donna McKelvy, her brother and his wife, Damon and Abby McKelvy, and other friends and relatives.
