We Get LettersPublished Wednesday, April 4, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneThis is in regards to the stray dog problem in Prescott. There needs to be something done. The postman is followed around by a pack of dogs, sometimes there are up to 12 stray dogs with him. I have heard reports of dogs harassing the elderly, kids and the pets in our yards. They also turn over our trash cans, dragging it all over our yard. The people of this town are tired of putting up with this problem. If this city has enough money to put a painting on the wall and a little park at the main intersection of town, they should have enough funds to hire a dog catcher one day a week to catch these dogs. I have tried talking to the mayor, but I cannot locate him. I have tried going to City Hall, but no one seems to know where he is. It seems to me the mayor should be one of the most accessible people in town. I am going to my first council meeting on the third Monday of April at 7 p.m. and I also invite anyone who agrees with my opinion to join me. I am starting a petition that will be placed all around town. Please sign it so we, the people, can let the City Council know our feelings on the problem. Thank you for your support.
