A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse Thursday, April 26, May 24 and June 28.

Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213.

To any woman who would like to get together with another woman to pray may get in touch with the local area contact person of Moms in Touch, Beth Ward, at 870-887-6376.

For the past three years the local schools have been covered in prayer by a group of moms who meet on Tuesdays at 1:45 at First Baptist Church to pray for one hour.

The Tri-County Beef Conference will be April 2 in Hope at approximately 5:00 p.m. It will be held at Hope Livestock Auction Barn on Highway 67 South.

The Midway Cemetery Perpetual Care Association will have its annual meeting Tuesday evening, April 3 at 7:00 at Midway United Methodist Church. All members and those interested in the Cemetery are encouraged to attend. The association reserves the right to reject any and all bids on the cemetery mowing.

Registration for kindergarten will be held at Emmet Elementary School April 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information call 887-2319.

The Union Cemetery Association will meet in the fellowship hall of Union Baptist Church for the annual meeting Saturday, April 7, at 7 p.m.

Anyone interested in bidding on upkeep of cemetery can submit bids at this meeting or mail to Janice Porter, Rt. 3 Box 165, Rosston, AR 71857.

The Hope Quilters Guild will hold its monthly meeting Monday, April 2, in the Citizens National Bank conference room in Hope at 7 p.m. Programs are planned for each quilter's enjoyment. The April coffee will be hosted by the Nevada County Library Board and Friends of the Library. It will be he Thursday, April 5, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Nevada County Library. Everyone is invited to help celebrate National Library Week.

The 7th annual Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, April 14, at the Nevada County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. For more information call the chamber at 887-2101.

The Prescott community will honor Helen Miller for her many years of service and dedication to the Prescott and surrounding area. The appreciation services get underway with an appreciation luncheon to be held at the Ila Upchurch Community Center on March 31, followed by a musical appreciation at 7 p.m. to be held at Faith Temple COGIC.
