We Get Letters

Published Wednesday, March 28, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune

I am reluctant to write any kind of response to John Miller's commentaries, since he might really believe anyone really cares what he thinks. By doing so maybe John will get a better idea of what most readers think of his work.

At first pass I really believe that his choice for the name of his column is surely Freudian related. The Void? Maybe an apt description of his capacity to put more than one thought together to offer up a logical conclusion. His thought "letting religious groups get their hand in the public till" defies logic. I.E. Medicare money is spent in many religious oriented hospitals, Catholic, Baptist, etc. Is that not church and state doing business? Based on his past comments concerning the economy, it's obvious his comments on that subject come from a void.

John's hobby of name calling? Most people outgrow these tendencies somewhere in their middle teens OOPS! I may have stumbled on something. Actually if this sort of trash is a hobby, John certainly suffered a mis-guided youth.

Finally, I must agree in part with Mr. Martindale's recent letter. Great entertainment and, I might add, a way to avoid putting a cartoon section in the paper.
