Eleanor Grace Bryant, 92, of Lindale, Texas, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, in a Lindale nursing home.

Mrs. Bryant was born September 28, 1908, in Troup, Texas, to the late Thomas and Clara Read Alston. She was a longtime resident of Beirne and Gurdon before moving to Lindale in 1990. She was a member of the Gurdon Garden Club, where she served as president from 1980-1981 and from 1981-1982. She was the club's historian from 1984 until 1985. She was also a member of Kadohadoco and the Gurdon Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Bryant was a member of Beech Baptist Church in Gurdon. She married Lem Bryant in Amity December 19, 1934. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nelda Walsh.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Munns of Tyler, Texas; a sister, Evelyn Hogan of Hot Springs; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Monday, March 26; at Rucker Cemetery in Troup, Texas, with Rev. James Covey officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home of Troup, Texas.
