Barbara Ellen Wright Budd, 79, of Odessa, Texas, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

Mrs. Budd was born November 29, 1921, in Oxford, Ohio, to Earl C. and Grace Winifred Duvall Wright. She was a housewife and former choir director of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, La., First Presbyterian Church in Wiggins, Mo., and First Presbyterian Church in Pampa, Texas. Mrs. Budd was a member of the Eastern Star in Oxford, Ohio, and a member of the Republican Women in Odessa, Texas. She was a former member of the Shreveport, La., Choral Ensemble and made a guest appearance with the Morman Tabernacle Choir in Shreveport.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, George E. Budd of Odessa, Texas; two sons, David Budd of Rosston and John E. Budd of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Virginia Grace Green of Houston, Texas, and Mary Kathryn Holloway of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Winifred Rooney of Oxford, Ohio, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at Preston Hallow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Rd. in Dallas, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer unit of Heather Manor Nursing and Rehab, 400 W. 23rd in Hope.
