Oak Grove NewsBY LULA Q. KENDRICKPublished Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune The Magnolia District Conference will be held April 6 and 7 instead of April 20 and 21. The colorrama was held at Bethel AME Church Saturday night. It was really nice. Purple was by Janet Smith, green was done by Benora Box, blue was by Mrs. Banks, gold was Sis. Gail McCoy, white was Glora Young and red was Mrs. Ardeel Johnson. There was a good crowd. Oak Grove was the special guest. They really have a good choir. Guest minister were Rev. Ralph Porcha. I went to Oak Grove Sunday morning for church. Rev. R. Porcha really did bring a good message from Acts chapter 25. Women's day was held at Cana AME Church Sunday. Missionary Tessie Scott was the guest speaker. St. John finished the music. George Gulley's funeral was held Monday at Union Grove Baptist Church in Bluff City at 2:30 p.m. Sympathy goes out to the family. Let's pray for the sick and shut-in.
