Juan Manuel Hirche-Garcia, 45, has been charged with first degree forgery.

Court records state Prescott Police Chief Sam Reeder was called to the Arkansas Revenue Office on Feb. 22, in response to suspicious looking documents presented by Garcia, who was trying to get an Arkansas driver's license.

Jose Luis Reyes-Rivera was with Garcia at the time, also trying to get a driver's license.

Reeder checked their resident alien cards, contacted the Department of Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS), and found their identification to be forged.

Rivera said he had obtained his alien card in Dallas, Texas for $80, while Garcia claimed he got his card a year ago in California for $100.

Both men said they had paid $100 for rides to Arkansas for the purpose of getting driver's licenses.

Garcia was arrested and charged with first degree forgery, a class B felony with a sentence of 5-20 years in prison and a fine up to $15,000.

Court records didn't state what happened with Rivera.
