Gurdon Rotary Club and the Gurdon Band Boosters annual auction and hamburger lunch will be held May 1 at Gurdon City Park. Auction begins at 11:00 a.m. Come hungry. You can get a delicious hamburger with all trimmings, chips and cold drink for $3. Proceeds are being used for band camp scholarships.

Reynolds Patterson plant reunion will be held May 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Caddo Bend Pavilion in DeGray State Park. Patterson Plant people are invited to attend. This includes retirees, employees, hourly and salary, retirees families and spouses of deceased employees. Potluck lunch served at 12:00 noon. Good entertainment.

The annual homecoming and business meeting for the Weir Cemetery Association at Okolona will be Saturday, May 1. The meeting will be at 10 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch.

Whelen Springs Baptist Church will be having a homecoming, the first in many years, on May 23. Potluck lunch will be served at noon. Everyone welcome.

Okolona High School alumni will hold a reunion Saturday, May 1, in the Okolona Community Center beginning at 9:00 a.m. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

The Gurdon chapter of the HSU Alumni Club will meet on May 4 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Gurdon Municipal Building and dues will be collected for membership. All area Reddies are urged to attend. If you have questions, call Susan Norris or Jerry Don Childers.

Bethel A.M.E. Church will be holding revival services May 3-7 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Evangelist prophet Elizabeth Moore will be the special guest. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Country dance lessons are being given on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. at the Beirne Fire Department sponsored by the community of Beirne. Cost is $2 per person. Call 353-6759 for more information.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
