Chamber Banquet Is March 26, Auction Planned Again

Monday, March 26 is the date for the annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Banquet.

This year's event will again be held in the McRae Middle School cafetorium, with MMS proving the meal after submitting the winning bid.

Tickets for the banquet are still available for $15 each and can be purchased from the Chamber office.

Along with the highlights of having the citizen of the year, teachers of the year and treasure of gold award, the auction will again be held.

And, again this year, there will be plenty for patrons to choose from.

Prescott Flowers and Gifts has donated a decorative wall panel, while the Shell Superstop has four $10 gift certificates for gasoline on the block. Red-E-Mart has donated three $10 gift certificates for gas as well.

Red River Knitting donated four sweaters, two bearing the Curley Wolf logo, while the Riverfront Steak House in North Little Rock has ponied up a dinner for two.

Congressman Mike Ross bestowed a large U.S. flag flown over the Capitol in Washington, D.C..

Silverwood Products donated a large silver picture framed mirror along with a black and gold framed mirror. Local artist Spot Daniel has a painting on the auction block as well.

The Prescott Big Star put up a pair of $50 gift certificates, while Two-Morrow's Petals submitted a gift certificate for a free daisy basket. Two-Morrow's Tea Room, though, is offering two lunch gift certificates.

Ragsdale Printing submitted two certificates good for a year's subscription to the Nevada County Picayune, with Oliver's One Stop offering four gift certificates for a Friday night fish plate dinner.

The Prescott Tobacco Shop donated a Zippo lighter, while the Broadway Cafi put up two certificates for a Sunday dinner for four, along with a Broadway Cafi T-shirt.

Aloette Cosmetics put up an Aloespa bath and fragrance set, while Baker's Best Stop has two certificates for $10 worth of gas or food.

The Bank of Prescott has donated a framed print, while the Benihana Restaurant in the Riverfront Hilton in Little Rock offered dinner for two.

Blann Hardware has a ceiling fan on the block, while Dalrymple Accounting has put up an autographed Arkansas Razorback football. This is the Cotton Bowl edition football for the fans in the audience.

Two certificates for $10 worth of gas were donated by Exit 44 Truck Stop, with the Fish Nest contributing seven certificates for a small catch catfish dinner and drink.

More food was donated by Fly Wheel Pies, as Gary Allen is offering two certificates for a box of pies.

George's submitted a gift basket of hair car products, while Nails by Lisa has offered a gift certificate good for one fill repair on nails.

A portable air tank has been donated by NAPA, while a family or individual membership was submitted by the Nevada County Ambulance Service.

Pennington Screen Printing is again offering a dozen caps with the buyers choice of embroidery design. Alliance Insurance has donated a floral arrangement for the event.

Holly's Health Mart has an entire list by itself of donations. They are: a lemon basket; a lamp; a dragon fly; wildlife message center; western frame; yellow bunny basket; gift basket; ceramic basket; Easter wagon; silver treasure box; a doll; bath supplies; an umbrella stand; children's activity basket' and a beehive birdhouse.

An autographed Razorback basketball from the 2000-2001 team making it to the NCAA Tournament is also up for sale, along with a Titus golf club and shotgun.

The above mentioned items constitute only a partial list of what will be auctioned off.

This year's auctioneer will be Jim Self, with Chad Cornelius assisting.

Leigh Ann Johnson will be on hand for photographs, at $5 each, for those interested.

Again, the banquet will be casual dress as it has a nautical theme.
