Sexual Abuse Charges FiledBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in the Gurdon Times Mark Easley, 39, of Gurdon, has been charged with two counts of first degree sexual abuse. According to court records, on July 11, 2000, the mother of a nine-year-old boy told officers Easley had touched her son in a private area. The parents confronted Easley before going to the police, telling him to stay away from their child. On the same day, a "Hot Line" call came in concerning Easley allegedly molesting another nine-year-old victim. Easley was arrested on July 14, and denied he'd done anything. The court ordered him to undergo a psychological evaluation. The results showed him to be mildly retarded, but unable to assist in his own defense. Easley has been ordered to be committed to the Arkansas State Hospital. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
