Lola Iris Smithpeters StewartRUGGLES - WILCOX FUNERAL HOME of ARKADELPHIAPublished Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in the Gurdon Times Lola Iris Smithpeters Stewart, 87, of Gurdon died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehab in Arkadelphia. Mrs. Stewart was born October 17, 1913, in Okolona, the daughter of the late Brumett anad Lou Ticia McGoughin Smithpeters. She was a housewife and a member of the Maryetta Pentecostal Church in Okolona. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, George Stewart, four brothers, W.B., Virgil, Roy and Doyle Smithpeters; three sons-in-law, J.O. Reynolds Jr., LaVoy Kelly and Harold Brady; one daughter-in-law, Lee Stewart, and one granddaughter, Karen Stewart. Survivors include two sons, Buddy and David Stewart, both of Gurdon; three daughters, JoAnn Brady and Frances Reynolds, both of Gurdon and Judy Pierce of Fordyce; two brothers, Bill and J.C. Smithpeters, both of Okolona; four sisters, Esther James of Payola, Okla., Freda Barfield of Bald Knob, Opal Anderson of Arkadelphia and Lois Davis of Longview, Texas; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, March 17, at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel in Arkadelphia with Rev. Jack Mullins officiating.
