Jan BensonHORNE FUNERAL HOME of GURDONPublished Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in the Gurdon Times Jan Benson, 49, of Gurdon died Tuesday, March 13, 2001. Mrs. Benson was an employee of First State Bank. She was a member of New Caney Baptist Church of Gurdon. Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her father, Herman Pool. Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her father, Herman Pool. Survivors include her husband, Donald Benson of Gurdon; a son, Donnie Benson of South Bend, Ind.; a daughter, Deanna Benson of Memphis, Tenn.; her mother, Nelagene Pool of Henderson, Texas; a sister, Sandy Martin of Henderson, Texas; 8 nieces and 6 nephews; and two great nieces and one great nephew. Funeral services were held Friday, March 16, in Horne Funeral Chapel in Gurdon with Rev. Mike Taylor officiating.
