Classy Moments from Cabe Middle SchoolPublished Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in the Gurdon TimesSpring break, yes, we are enjoying a few days out of school. Believe me, it was not difficult to plan to be out of class for a while, as it seemed to be something everyone was looking forward to with great anticipation. The days were filled with various activities before we were officially dismissed Friday. Monday of last week the students attended the campus cuties, as presented by the junior class. Friday they attended a basketball game between faculty and students. To avoid embarrassment the score will not be given. Parent/teacher conferences that were conducted Thursday were a little low in attendance as there were so many things going on the same night. The mighty Go-Devils band (several CMS students are members of) participated in a very tough region III concert and sightreading contest Thursday evening. They earned a rating of excellent in the concert portion and a superior in the sightreading contest. Great job! A lot of hard work and long practice hours did pay off. Mrs. Smithey has been busy trying to clear out her classroom as she is preparing her office in the high school. She might find it surprising of just how many things have to be moved. Just don't let the door get you, Mrs. Smithey. Several students have wonderful trips planned for spring break as some are going to Florida, Texas, Branson, Mo., Louisiana, fishing, and just going out on their four-wheelers. The girls trying out for cheerleaders have been "in a nervous tweedy." One was seen with her hair in rollers, (big rollers) and scared Mrs. Clingan. The results are known by the time you are reading this and just remember that some did make it and some did not. For those who did and those who "will try again," you are loved just the same. We appreciate you. Thank you for caring about us as we make those Classy Moments at CMS. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
