Noel Ardis CummingsSHACKELFORD FUNERAL HOME of PRESCOTTPublished Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune Noel Ardis Cummings, 87, of Prescott died Friday, March 9, 2001, in Prescott. Mr. Cummings was born June 17, 1913, in Blevins to Andrew (Drew) Jackson and Lois Ruth Bolls Cummings. He was a retired farmer and lumber checker at Potlatch Corp. He was a member of Midway Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jessie Lee Porter Cummings; two brothers, Ray Cummings and A.J. Cummings; and a sister, Vera Frizzell. Cherishing his memory are a son and daughter-in-law, James Ardis and Pat Cummings of Mesquite, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy Marie and Dale Harmon and Janis Kay and Steve Wren of Prescott; one grandson, Brandon Wren of Prescott; four granddaughters, Debbie Pippenger of Sheridan, Tammy Harmon of Hot Springs, Lisa White of Mesquite, Texas, and Kelley Wren of Prescott; one great grandson, Billy Maness; four great granddaughters, Heather and Holly Pippenger and Makenna and Makaylee White; one brother, Anthon Cummings of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters, Ruth Thomason of Richardson, Texas, and Opal Knudson of Waco, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 11, at Midway Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland and Rev. Joe Miller officiating. Burial was in Midway Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott. Pallbearers were Hamp Miller, Danny Miller, Larry Harper, Paul Harden, Herbert Chambless, Jerry Pennington, Charles Dauster and William McGuire.
