Katherine H. Shirron, 64, of Benton, formerly of Prescott, passed away Monday, March 5, 2001.

Mrs. Shirron was born March 2, 1937, in Little Rock. She was a Bryant Elementary School teacher for 13 years before her retirement after 37 years of teaching. Mrs. Shirron was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and had taken several mission trips to Russia with Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. She was a beloved wife, wonderful mother and grandmother known as Mawmaw.

Survivors include her husband, Bill A. Shirron of Benton; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lori Shirron of Prescott and John and Paula Shirron of Cabot; one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and J. Clark of Bryant; and four grandchildren, Mallori Williams, Samantha Clark, Emily Clark and Gabe Shirron.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 8, at Salem United Methodist Church with graveside services in Sparkman Cemetery with Rev. Larry Kelso officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Ashby Funeral Home of Benton.

Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church building fund.
