The dates for the 2001 University of Arkansas Four Seasons grazing management schools have been set, along with the agenda and locations.

This year's four schools will be held at Everett Ward's farm on May 1, July 16, November 5 and December 3.

The registration fee this year is $10 to cover the cost of the University of Arkansas Grazing Manual and a pasture grazing stick'. This will be your only expense to attend all four schools. Last year's registration fee of $95 is being paid through a grant.

The Four Seasons grazing school program was developed in response to producer surveys from previous grazing school attendees on grazing management educational needs. The Four Seasons gives the participants an opportunity to look at mid-spring, mid-summer, mid-fall and winter forage production. The 2001 Arkansas Grazing Management School will be conducted by the UA Cooperative Extension Service in cooperation with the National Resources Conservation Service.

A sampling of the topics to be covered at the first meeting include: Grazing System Options and How They Work,' Grazing and Utilizing Spring Forages to Match Livestock Nutrition Needs and to Meet Your Production Goals' and Which Forage/Livestock Program Provides Me the Best Opportunity to Make Money?'

Enrollment is limited. Anyone interested in attending should sign up as soon as possible by calling the County Extension office at 870-887-2818 or call Larry Sandage at 870-307-0067.
