Golden OldiesDORIS VANCEPublished Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in the Gurdon Times I have been unable to write my article for the last two weeks. I have had some work done on my house and have been trying to move back into it. We have had several activities at the center. Royce Ann Barbaree has been doing a good job of keeping us busy. Jerry Don Childers brought his fourth graders to sing for us on March 7. Several of us went shopping at the Hot Springs Mall on the 8th. We ladies really had a good time. Our seniors who had birthdays in February were Esther Thrasher, Clarence Haltom, Lousie Thomerson, Sidney Franklin, Art Cooper, James Trout, Billy Williams, Ruby Lang, Peggy Williams, Jewell Kyle, Walter Sligh, Faye Tucker, Melba Ann Baumgardner, Gloria Bennett, Harris Haeron, Charles Shaver, Bernice Freeman, Minnie Cooper, Emma Heron, S.T. Manson, Mildred Ferguson and Doris Vance. We will have our council meeting on Tuesday and there will be square dancing with Tommy and Dorothy Hayes on Friday. Come and join us.
