Gurdon Primary School is needing help painting playground equipment. The date set for working is Saturday, March 17, at 9:00 a.m. If you are available to help, contact Mrs. Roe or Shellie Stroud at the school by calling 353-4321.

Students who will be entering kindergarten in the fall need to register at the Gurdon Primary School on Wednesday, March 28, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. or Thursday, March 29, between 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m. Students will be given a screening evaluation at this time. Students registering for kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 15.

To register a child you will need to take the child's social security card, birth certificate and immunization record.

Russell and Angela Ledbetter of Arkadelphia proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Rachel Mary. Weighing 6 pounds and 10= ounces, she was born at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton.

Her big brother Jacob welcomed her home.

The 26th annual Festival of Two Rivers will be held Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14, in Arkadelphia. Festival hours are 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on April 13 and 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on April 14.

Bethel A.M.E. Church is holding its spring musical March 17 at 7:00 p.m and wish to invite all churches to attend. The musical is sponsored by Sis. Bertha Vinson.

Red River Baptist Association is offering disaster relief training, basic training for new volunteers and previously trained volunteers. The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend.

The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.
