Classy Moments from Cabe Middle School

The first track meet for this school year was held at De Queen Tuesday. Gurdon had 22 team members. We will only say that they "did the best they could." Regardless of how they rated, we are proud of each one. We look for better results in the competition that was to be held in Nashville Tues., March 13.

Parent-teacher conferences will be held Thurs., March 15, from 2:30 until 7:00 p.m. School will dismiss at 1:00 p.m. Thursday. This is the last of the two parent-teacher conferences we hold each year.

We are now in the last nine weeks of this school year. Students are being urged and reminded to make sure all work is completed and turned in on time.

Spring break will be the week of March 19 through 23. To be honest, it is believed that not only the students are ready for the break, but so are the teachers.

Although time has gone by so fast this school year, when we return from spring break it will most likely seem as though it is flying by.

About 32 girls have gone out for cheerleader for the next school year. Tryouts will be Friday, March 16. As the time draws near, some are already stating, "I am getting nervous." There was no boys to go out for cheerleader this time, or last time and most likely not next time. For some reason they just don't want to do that. Can you imagine?

A very nice compliment was given to the Classy Moments article by a parent and teacher in our school system. Those kind of compliments are always appreciated so much. Thanks, Mrs. Boyce, as you really know how to make a person feel good.

The yearbook is almost completed and will soon be in the mail on the way to the publisher. A lot of work has been put into the making of a book of special memories. It has been difficult this time for some of the yearbook staff to meet as they have so many different things going on in their lives. It is asking a lot for them to give up their Sunday afternoons to work. A big thanks for a job well done.
