Ronald Curtis EasleyBEASLEY-WOOD FUNERAL HOME of MENAPublished Wednesday, March 7, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune Ronald Curtis Easley, 57, of Arkadelphia and Mena died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Mr. Easley was born February 11, 1944, in Texarkana. He was a 1962 graduate of Mena High School and a 1970 graduate of the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, where he received his BBA degree. He was a member of First Methodist Church of Mena. He was appointed general manager of South Central Arkansas Electric Cooperative, Inc. in Arkadelphia, where he served his co-op, its members and his community diligently since 1990. He has served on both the Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation and Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. boards since 1990, where he held offices of secretary-treasurer and chairman of the board since January of this year. He served on the Clark County Industrial Council, three years as secretary-treasurer, where he was very instrumental in the development of the Southwest Arkansas Technology Learning Center. He served in the Arkadelphia Rotary Club and Clark County Home Builders Association. He also served as officer of various organizations, including the Mena Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs, Mena Jaycees, Optimist Club of Mena, and the Polk County Chamber of Commerce and Fair Association. He was engineering officer for the Polk County OES and a volunteer fireman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Evelyn Easley. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Freddie Newbolt Easley of Mena; one daughter, Kelley L. Dotson; one son-in-law, Brian Dotson and one very special granddaughter, Katie Dotson of Arkadelphia; two brothers, Bart and Gary Easley and one sister, Debra Shook all of Little Rock. He also leaves behind a large extended family in Texarkana and Mena. Funeral services were held Monday, March 5, at Union Mission Church of God in Mena under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
